Leading Australian Mining Contractor with mining operations across Australia and internationally. Their contract has been extended at this open cut coal operation. Currently they produce a high quality thermal coal for both domestic and export markets. After constructing this operation their continued strong relationship with the client sees them undertaking full mining operations.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager this role is crucial to the Environmental management of the operation. The main focus of the role is to implement and continually improve the sites Environment Management System. You will also manage the vibration/dust/noise and water management on site, ground disturbance and rehabilitation planning and execution. You will train staff including an environmental graduate as well as the environmental budgets for site.

To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 4 years environmental management experience in mining (coal preferable). You will have an Environmental Science or Engineering Bachelor degree. Proven experience developing and implementing EMS to sustain and continually improve the sites environmental performance. Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills are essential. You also must be able to develop and sustain relationships both internally and with external stakeholders.
