Quality Control Inspector - Welder - Pipeline Construction

 

Based in Biloela in central Queensland this is an exciting opportunity for Quality Control professional with a welding background to make a significant impact.

The primary functionalities of the role is to provide effective, practical supervision and control on the Quality Control Inspection team working on Pipeline, station Piping Installations, Equipment erection and alignment, Welding Inspection, Painting / Coating inspection, Material Inspection and NDT.

You will conduct Internal Auditing, Auditing of Subcontractors, and liaise with clients and subcontractors.

Key duties include:

  • Assigning and monitoring Inspectors tasks to ensure quality coverage is adequate on the work
  • Ensuring adequate resources are available for inspection team to perform
  • Confirming applicable plans and procedures are followed effectively and correct material identification and traceability requirements are met
  • Verify positioning of materials comply with construction drawings, sequence/ priorities set and that reports are generated and approved in time, in pace with work progression
  • Supervise technical staff and subcontractor activities, provide regular reports to management and coordinate all field inspection, tests, NDE activities and provide inspection/release status, ensuring field data capturing and field generated reports are completed correctly
  • Liaise with various project teams and ensure quality standards and requirements are met.

You must be able to satisfy the below criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in a related field with a minimum of ten years Quality experience in the construction industry project related.
  • International Certification to carry out welding and coating inspections
  • Good experience and knowledge of Material inspection, Joint preparation, Welding inspection, NDE requirements, checking post weld heat treatment, hardness test, Field joint Coating, pressure testing
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver technical written reports and communicate clearly and concisely. High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to
  • Interface, interact and work with both internal and external parties.
